// The Story

Born from a real problem

JTC Tech started with a single question: will people actually follow an AI policy, or will they paste the wrong thing without even realising?

While working on enterprise AI governance in 2024, the team identified a gap: policy alone isn't enough. People need tools that enforce good behaviour automatically — not just documents that sit in a shared folder. That insight led to Guardian AI in early 2025, and from there, the group grew.

By the end of 2025, three extensions were in active development. PromptForge — a prompt engineering assistant built around 12 structured frameworks — launched its open beta in early 2026. Guardian AI shipped its private pilot around the same time. Dark Pattern Detector entered alpha in 2026, scanning pages in real time using DOM analysis and the Anthropic API. Every product in the JTC Tech portfolio exists because a real problem was identified and no good tool existed to solve it.

The Problem Gets Identified

Building enterprise AI governance frameworks surfaces a critical gap — compliance needs tooling, not just documentation. Development begins.

Early 2025

Guardian AI — Research and Development

The first JTC Tech extension takes shape: a real-time prompt scanner that catches sensitive data (ID numbers, keys, credentials) before it reaches Claude, Gemini or ChatGPT. POPIA compliance built in from day one, to solve the problem at home first.

Mid 2025

PromptForge — Research and Development

The second JTC Tech extension begins as an idea: how do we prompt AI better? PromptForge intercepts prompts and guides users through 12 different, internationally known structured frameworks — RTF, Create, and CoT to name a few.

Late 2025 / Early 2026

Dark Pattern Detector — Research and Development

Dark Pattern Detector flags manipulative UI patterns as you browse.

Early 2026

Guardian AI — Beta

Guardian AI ships its private beta. Real-time detection, a local audit log, and a POPIA compliance mode. Zero data leaves the browser.

Early 2026

PromptForge — Beta

PromptForge launches in open beta with 12 prompt frameworks, an auto-classifier, quality checklist, live preview, and full prompt history — all local, no accounts.

2026

Dark Pattern Detector — Alpha

Dark Pattern Detector enters Alpha, scanning pages in real time for dark patterns using DOM analysis and the Anthropic API.

What's Next

Chrome Web Store submissions, v2 features across the portfolio, and new tools in the pipeline. The mission stays the same: useful, private, and local for single users. Team tiers are being investigated — real-time analytics, reporting, training identifiers, user scores, and more.

// Core values
01
🔐

Privacy is Non-Negotiable

No cloud processing. No data collection. No user accounts. Every single tool in the JTC portfolio runs locally on your machine. If it can't be built that way, we don't build it.

02
🧩

Solve Real Problems

We don't build tools for the sake of it. Every product addresses a specific, observable problem — one we've either experienced ourselves or seen others struggling with.

03

Speed Without Compromise

Local-first tools should be faster than cloud-based ones. We build for performance as a core feature — not an afterthought. Real-time means real-time.

04
🌍

Built for Africa Too

Most developer tools are built for the US or EU market. We build with South African users, regulations (POPIA), and infrastructure realities in mind from day one.
