Before the session

Read Days 52, 54 and 55 (about five minutes each), or Module 6 on the cheat sheet.

The 30 minutes

1. 0–5 minOpen

   Quick round: who or what are you waiting on right now?

2. 5–15 minDiscuss three days
   • Day 52: The best dependency is the one you removed.Which teams or people are we waiting on, and is that work in their backlog?
   • Day 54: Might happen, or happening?Which of our risks have no owner, and which have already become issues?
   • Day 55: Headline first. Decisions next.If a leader read our status report, would the headline match how worried we are?
3. 15–25 minExercise: Map the waits

   List every dependency and risk the team knows about. Give each one an owner and a next action, and mark it risk or issue. Cross out anything nobody would act on.

4. 25–30 minAction for the week

   The team writes one page of status, with a one-line headline, a forecast range and the decisions needed, and shares it with the people who wait on our work.

   Agree the team rule: “Every risk has an owner.”
